Pedagogical challenges in integrating refugee students in the Global North: A literature review

Abstract For several years now, military conflict, climate change, lack of food, and other forces have compelled many people around the globe to leave their countries live in exile. As shown by exponentially increasing statistics, children are leaving homes, sometimes families, schools. Once they arrive a country resettlement, face challenge new schooling. To understand how best support these exile communities those who work with them—students, parents, teachers, schools—I searched international literature for main challenges schooling refugee students resettlement Global North. This review identifies variety profiles, related pre- post-migration experiences, as well all intertwined issues taking place within school: language learning, relationships teacher students, training, etc. These numerous intertwining only makes them more complex. Understanding therefore seems be basis any action education.
